Solar Panels & Renewable Energy in Dún Laoghaire

A ten minute run from our base in Deansgrange, so Dún Laoghaire is effectively home ground.

The housing is mostly Victorian and Edwardian terraces near the seafront and 1930s semi-Ds further back. Period roofs bring their own considerations: natural slate is more brittle than concrete tile and wants careful handling, and many of the terraces are in the architectural conservation area, where panels on a front-facing roof slope can need planning input. The rear slopes are usually the answer, and on a south or west facing rear roof the yield is excellent because there is very little tall planting to shade it.

Coastal aspect also means less overshadowing than inland suburbs. Typical systems here run 10 to 14 panels.
